Bandhej: A Contemporary Touch to the Indian Heritage

Archana Shah, an alumna of the National Institute of Design, established Bandhej in 1981. Bandhej has pioneered the concept of utilizing ethnic designs and traditional craftsmanship to produce contemporary fashion. The brand keeps the culture and tradition of the country as its underlying theme and offers a plethora of prints and fabrics all made up of eco-friendly dyes and natural fibres.

While Archana works with local artisans and aims at eradicating the cost of mediators to provide the craftsmen with maximum profit, she believes that fashion is not just what is in trend but it is the creativity that one can show on a piece of cloth.

With workers employed from all across the country, it has its headquarters at Ahmedabad. The Bandhej outlets are a place where one can browse saris, knitwear, ensembles, tops, bottoms and accessories.
