There was a time when the hill town of Mukteshwar was living in oblivion. No one knew about it before the IVRI (Indian Veterinary Research Institute) was set up here. Well, with its thickly wooded slopes, once it became known, it started attracting nature lovers and solace seekers. Even today, it is far less popular as compared to its older cousin – Nainital.
Spread out on a slope here is a retreat called “Mountain Trail Resort”. Set amidst an orchard, it offers a no-frills stay with its cottages spread over the slope of the hill. They have a cafe and a restaurant but no room service is available for main meals. Neither do they have televisions in the room. So, there is hardly anything here that can distract you while you are enjoying your commune with nature.
