It was 1760 when this palace was built at a strategic location which looks on to one of the three main passes leading to the valley. It was then called Delwara Fort Palace but now it is ‘Devigarh Palace’. Situated in the hills of Aravallis near Udaipur, Devigarh has been turned into a five-star heritage hotel. Today staying here lets you admire the history and architectural styles of the Mewar region.
The region of Mewar is known as much for its valour as for its creation and appreciation of art. With its elegant architecture, formidable facade and commanding position, the palace is a true representation of Mewar style. It took hard work of 15 years by a team of 750 people to refurbish this palace so as to turn it into a heritage hotel. As a result, what has come about is an impressive monument which offers a combination of modern comforts and the history and heritage of Rajputana. Managed by RAAS, Devigarh has 39 suites bifurcated into four different categories, and its spa has garnered a good amount of appreciation from the wellness seekers.
